Whitney Hancock
LPC, Colorado
LMHC, Indiana
Whitney works with couples, families, and individuals using compassionate, evidence-based treatments (IFS, Imago, and EMDR). You will work together to decrease symptoms of anxiety or depression, move forward from stuck feelings or traumatic memories, improve secure and connected relationships, and increase self-compassion.
Whitney is trained in IFS and EMDR to offer dynamic, experiential therapy. She has extensive experience working with adults and students experiencing life transitions (moving, marriage, post-partum, parenthood, job changes, grief). Whitney also has training in Imago relational therapy and utilizes Gottman and EFT methods. She is passionate about family systems and involving the couple, the family, or the parent-child in therapy when possible, as she believes this can contribute to the greatest positive change in mental health.
Whitney is a Certified Trauma Professional – Level 1, with specialized training in supporting individuals and couples through the impact of trauma. Her work is grounded in evidence-based approaches that address both the mind and body’s response to distressing experiences.
She has completed NCMEC training on victims of online solicitation and sexual trauma, equipping her to support survivors of complex and sensitive experiences with care, safety, and understanding.
She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a highly effective therapy for processing traumatic memories, reducing distress, and restoring a sense of balance and resilience. In addition, she integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients work through depression and PTSD by connecting with inner parts in a compassionate, healing way.
For couples, she draws on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment for healing trauma in relationships, supporting partners in rebuilding trust, safety, and connection.
She also provides assertiveness training for anxiety and court appearances, helping clients prepare to use their voice clearly and confidently in stressful, high-stakes situations.
