“Trauma creates change you don’t choose. Healing is about creating change you do choose.” – Michele Rosenthal

Human beings are a collection of experiences; both the stories we tell the world and the stories we shy away from because they are so painful or we don’t know how to hold them. The stories we tell ourselves about our experiences shape the way we show up for others and ourselves, directly impacting our identities, decision-making, and self-confidence. I believe therapy can be a safe place to explore these stories with compassion and validation, while also challenging them with truth and self-awareness. My hope for clients in their healing journey is to feel empowered to explore their experiences and identities, in order to develop a deeper relationship with themselves and lead an authentic and meaningful life.

I enjoy working with adults, children, and families navigating grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and self-esteem. I have special clinical interest in supporting clients through perinatal mental health, chronic pain and illness, and medical trauma. I approach therapy from an eclectic person-centered, existential-humanistic lens, drawing from modalities of ACT, CBT, DBT, EMDR, Narrative, Compassion-Focused, Attachment Theory, Positive Psychology and others. You may find conversations centering around your worldview, how you make meaning of your experiences, and your relationship with yourself. If applicable, I enjoy integrating expressive arts and writing into sessions. Therapy with me is very relational, with lots of laughter, tears, and too many references to Inside Out 1 and 2. For those who desire spiritual integration, I also welcome conversations about faith, spirituality, and our relationship with God and nature.

I grew up in Colorado Springs and spent the last 2 years in Oregon before deciding to return home to my roots. Outside of the therapy room, you can find me reading, writing, journaling, crafting, watching movies, or spending time in nature. In my free time, I am soaking up time with my husband, my toddler, and our kitty.
