Faith-Integrated Therapy That Is Clinically Sound

and Theologically Informed

At Dynamic Counseling, some of our clinicians have been trained to offer Christian counseling for clients who desire to integrate their faith into the therapy process. We believe faith can be a powerful part of healing — when it is handled with care, humility, and professional integrity.

Our therapists integrate Christian faith only at the client’s request and always within evidence-based, ethically responsible clinical frameworks. We believe that clients should be free to pursue religious integration with clinical counseling, whether they are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, or of a different religious background. At this time, we have clinicians on our team who integrate the Christian faith through training from Denver Seminary and Colorado Christian University, though we do not only hire Christian clinicians and do not identify as a "Christian counseling center".

We are first and foremost licensed mental health professionals. At the same time, our clinicians who practice Christianity believe that all truth is God's truth. That means your therapy will be grounded in research-backed approaches such as EMDR, trauma therapy, attachment-based work, CBT, and other clinically supported modalities. When clients want to incorporate their faith, we thoughtfully weave spiritual reflection into that framework.

What Christian Counseling Means at Dynamic Counseling

Christian counseling with us may include:

• Exploring how your faith shapes your identity, relationships, and meaning
• Processing spiritual struggles or church hurt
• Integrating prayer when requested
• Discussing Scripture in ways that support emotional regulation and healing
• Addressing shame, guilt, forgiveness, and grief through both theological and psychological lenses

Faith is not forced. It is invited.

Some clients want prayer in session.
Some want theological reflection.
Some want none of it at all.

You set the direction.

Evidence-Based Therapy Comes First

We believe that responsible Christian counseling must honor both Scripture and science.

That means:

• Trauma is treated with trauma-informed methods like EMDR
• Anxiety and depression are addressed using proven clinical tools
• Attachment wounds are processed with relational and nervous-system awareness
• Couples work is grounded in research-based models

We do not replace clinical treatment with spiritual advice.

When clients integrate faith, we ensure it supports healing rather than bypasses emotional work. Spiritual language should deepen growth — not silence pain.

Why We Do Not Practice “Biblical Counseling”

Dynamic Counseling does not hire therapists who practice “biblical counseling” as a replacement for clinical mental health treatment.

Biblical counseling, as a model, often rejects established psychological science and relies exclusively on Scripture as the intervention.

We respect that some individuals seek that approach. However, we believe mental health care should be:

• Grounded in research
• Trauma-informed
• Ethically regulated
• Licensed and accountable
• Integrated, not substituted

Our therapists are clinically trained, licensed professionals who follow Colorado mental health regulations and professional ethical standards.

Faith can be part of healing.
It is not a substitute for competent care.

A Safe Place for Faith and Questions

Many of our clients come to us with:

• Religious trauma
• Church hurt
• Confusion about God in the midst of suffering
• Questions about shame, sexuality, or doubt
• A desire to rebuild faith after betrayal

We hold space for all of it.

Christian counseling at Dynamic Counseling is not about pressure or preaching. It is about helping you feel known, grounded, and supported as you integrate your faith with emotional health.

Christian Counseling and Trauma Therapy

For many clients, trauma impacts both the nervous system and their theology. You may intellectually believe you are safe, but your body does not feel safe. You may believe God is good, yet struggle to trust after betrayal or loss.

Through trauma therapy, EMDR, and attachment-based counseling, we help clients process painful experiences while honoring their faith framework.

Healing is both spiritual and neurological.

QA

Can Christian counseling be integrated with trauma therapy?

Yes. Many clients want to understand how trauma affects both their nervous system and their faith. Our therapists use trauma-informed approaches such as EMDR therapy and attachment-based counseling to help process painful experiences while honoring a client’s spiritual framework.

What if I’ve been hurt by the church?

We regularly work with clients processing church hurt, religious trauma, spiritual abuse, or confusion about faith. Therapy can be a safe place to explore these experiences without judgment or pressure.

Do your therapists follow professional licensing standards?

Yes. All of our clinicians are licensed or working toward licensure under supervision in Colorado. We follow state regulations, ethical guidelines, and professional standards for mental health treatment.

Can Christian counseling help couples?

Yes. For couples who share Christian faith, therapy can integrate spiritual values with research-based couples counseling methods. We focus on communication, attachment, conflict repair, and rebuilding trust while respecting your shared beliefs.
